If you live in Florida or are a visitor, you have to admit our casinos and racetracks just keep getting better and better. The entertainment is top notch, the restaurants are outstanding and the promotions and events beckon every day with great gifts and big prizes.
We heard from our friends at Calder Racetrack who are getting ready for the Grand Opening of Calder Jai-Alai on Wednesday, May 22. They are super excited to welcome everyone to experience jai alai and introduce you to Florida’s newest team. From what we’ve been told, the players for Calder Jai-Alai are primarily south-Floridian local talent who have grown up around the sport. And to make it even more exciting, Calder Jai-Alai boasts the first Jai-Alai female division in the United States with players Becky Smith and Deborah Mitchell breaking into what has historically been a male-dominated sport.

Being a devoted, our should I say devout, Beatle fan, I plan to end the month at The Casino at Dania Beach for the Classic Albums Live, The Beatles Abbey Road show. Classic Albums Live uses the world’s best musicians to re-create live productions of landmark recordings. OK, so they are not John, Paul, George or Ringo but if you close your eyes you will be transported back in time. The concert includes the Abbey Road LP performed in its entirety followed by a set of Beatles classic hits.
Tickets start at $12
